C is for Cookie!

As an avid collector of cookie recipes I see a lot of recipes that claim to be The Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe (in the world/ever/even better than yo' momma's, blah blah blah). Well, I saw this recipe on Good Things Catered. Um. They are good.

Are you jealous?

Behold the beauty!

Recipe:

2 cups plus 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
12 Tbsp (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted & cooled until warm (THIS WAS THE REASON FOR THE GOODNESS. DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP. AND LET THE DUMB STUFF COOL OR YOU WILL HAVE GREASEBALL COOKIES! wanna know how i know? oh, i used regular salted butter. mmmm, salt...)
1 c brown sugar, packed
1/2 c granulated sugar
1 large egg plus 1 yolk
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Directions:

Mix butter and sugars.
Beat in egg, yolk and vanilla.
Add dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
Stir in chips.

Roll 1/2 cup of dough (yes, 1/2 cup) into a ball-type shape and pull it apart in half. Put the jagged side up on the cookie sheet. Leave lots of space around the cookies or you will have One Cookie. I only was able to fit 6 per batch and I have big cookie sheets.

Bake at 325F for about 17 minutes. They will look puffy, but not liquidy in the middle. Let cool. They will get shiny!

The hub-sand said this was one I could make for him anytime. He's good to me, eh?
